Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms", "Terms of Service") carefully before using the KanbanTab website (the "Service") operated by KanbanTab ("us", "we", or "our").

Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

1. Accounts & Authentication

KanbanTab uses Google OAuth for authentication. We do not store or manage passwords for your account.

By creating an account, you agree that:

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account, as access to your Google account grants access to the Service.
  • You will not share your account access with any third party.
  • You must notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.

2. End-to-End Encryption & Data Loss

KanbanTab offers an optional End-to-End Encryption (E2EE) feature. If you choose to enable this feature, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

Your encryption passphrase is strictly local to your device and never sent to our servers. If you lose or forget your passphrase, we cannot recover your data. It will be permanently inaccessible. You accept full responsibility for remembering or securely storing your encryption passphrase.

3. Guest Users (Unregistered)

If you use the Service without creating an account ("Guest Mode"), your data is stored locally on your device using your browser's storage mechanisms (IndexedDB/Local Storage).

We are not responsible for data loss resulting from:

  • Clearing your browser cache or history.
  • Using "Incognito" or "Private" browsing modes.
  • Device failure or theft.
  • Browser updates or resets.

To prevent data loss, we strongly recommend creating an account or regularly exporting your data via the Settings menu.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Some parts of the Service are billed on a subscription basis ("Subscription(s)"). You will be billed in advance on a recurring and periodic basis (such as monthly or annually).

  • Payment Processing: We use Stripe to process payments. By upgrading, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.
  • Cancellation: You may cancel your Subscription renewal at any time through your account settings page. You will not receive a refund for the fees you already paid for your current subscription period, and you will be able to access the Service until the end of your current subscription period.
  • Refunds: We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for new subscriptions. Beyond this window, refunds are granted at our sole discretion.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Upload or store content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or defamatory.
  • Attempt to decipher, decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer any of the software used to provide the Service.
  • Interfere with, or attempt to interfere with, the access of any user, host, or network, including sending a virus, overloading, flooding, spamming, or mail-bombing the Service.

Because of our encryption architecture, we cannot monitor your content. However, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we detect metadata or usage patterns indicating abuse of our infrastructure.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding Content provided by users), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of KanbanTab and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

Your Data: We claim no intellectual property rights over the data you provide to the Service. Your profile and materials uploaded remain yours.

7. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply discontinue using the Service or delete your account via the Settings menu.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall KanbanTab, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service; (iii) any content obtained from the Service; and (iv) unauthorized access, use or alteration of your transmissions or content, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence) or any other legal theory, whether or not we have been informed of the possibility of such damage.

9. "AS IS" Disclaimer

Your use of the Service is at your sole risk. The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement or course of performance.

10. Changes

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
