KanbanTab has detected that your network is blocking the Live Sync connection used for real-time updates (WebSockets).
Why is my connection limited?
Is my data safe?
Yes. Your data is still encrypted and securely saved to your account. The only difference is that instead of maintaining a persistent connection to our servers, KanbanTab is now checking in with the server every 10 seconds to see if anything has changed.
Why is this happening?
WebSockets are a standard web technology used for real-time applications, but they are sometimes blocked by your local network configuration. Common culprits include:
- Corporate firewalls / IT policies: Some office and enterprise networks restrict WebSocket connections.
- VPNs: Some Virtual Private Networks can intercept or block this type of traffic.
- Antivirus software: Programs like Kaspersky or Avast with web protection features can sometimes interfere with WebSocket connections.
- Browser extensions: Aggressive ad-blockers or privacy extensions can sometimes interfere.
How to fix it
If you'd like to restore real-time Live Sync, you can try the following steps:
- Whitelist the URL: If you have access to your firewall or antivirus settings, allow connections to:
wss://app.kanbantab.com - Try disabling extensions: Briefly turn off your ad-blockers or privacy extensions to see if the green "Online" status returns.
- Talk to IT: If you are on a work computer, you can send this page to your IT department so they can safely allow the connection.
What if I can't fix it?
That's completely fine! You can continue using KanbanTab exactly as you are. The background sync fallback handles everything automatically, ensuring your tasks remain backed up and synced across all your devices. The only difference is that updates may take a few seconds to appear.
